The Bears of Blue River (Chicago, Ill.) perform "Cry Baby" at the Quack Off in Avoca, Neb.

On the last Saturday of every January, thousands of people gather in Avoca (pop 275) from all over the region to the duck races.

The Quack Off is the primary fundraiser for the village's volunteer fire department, raising money for basic operations.
