“Ice Cream” by The Prairies | Music Video

by Jordan Minnick

Months ago, Omaha band The Prairies hit up St. Louis for their "One Night in St. Louis tour aka the $5,000,000 show," the band's drummer/bassist Mike Marasco tells me, and they shot a music video while they were at it.

"Basically, we got offered by Washington University in St. Louis to play this show," Marasco says, "so we kinda got our shit together, wiped, practiced and were on our way. No one scored, but it was fun, and no cats were harmed in the video.

David Nance, the band's lead singer and guitarist, put the video together. Footage was taken by the band with live shots taken by friends.

You can catch their next show, a HN benefit showcase, with The Vingins (Lincoln), Snake Island (Omaha)  and Big Elephant (Seward) Thursday, May 12 at the studio venue the Sandbox (2406 Leavenworth) in Omaha. RSVP on Facebook!

The band includes Yuppies' guitarist Noah Sterba and drummer Kevin Donahue (also InDreama), who are taking off May 14 – June 3 for that band's tour with Solid Attitude out of Iowa City. Catch the finally of their tour also at the Sandbox June 4 with Pharmacy Spirits, Groceries and Barbie.

Like The Prairies on Facebook! And check out their music over at their MySpace! They also have an 11-track cassette tape you can order here or pick up at Antiquarium Records in Omaha.
