Lighthouses Start Tour for “Black Letter Day” | Video Feature

story and video by Cam Penner

Follow the music of Kearney as it travels around the country. Hardcore band Lighthouses is gathering stories as they tour with their debut album, Black Letter Day.

The band will be making a stop in Omaha on Saturday at The Hideout before heading out on the rest of their tour. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Black Letter Day was recorded at All Poetic Audio in South Dakota with the owner, Jeremy Schaeffer. The band was in the studio for a week recording the album. “I went a whole day without seeing the sunlight, so that was pretty cool,” drummer Nate Skinner says.

“It was a really comfortable atmosphere,” Skinner says. “We could sit down and critique each other and throw out ideas while it was going on.”

“It’s really cool that we get to go to places we never even thought of and play for people we don’t even know,” guitarist Nathan Richardson says. “There’s something beautiful about connecting with people through something without even knowing them.”

Listen to Lighthouses talk about their new album and why they love playing hardcore music and traveling.
