“New Tattoo” by Brad Hoshaw | Ingrained Video

by Andrew Roger

Flesh, it's the fabric that weaves us together, keeping all the parts in their places. Fleshing out a song carries a similar definition. Brad Hoshaw has been fleshing out songs in a cabin in Minnesota for four years with other songwriters from around the U.S.

And a good song doesn't lay low under the appearance for long. A new crop of songs has been circling Hoshaw's mind with arrangements and preferred producers and players to recreate them. But the economy has been grating, making a full-band album a far-flung reality.

So Hoshaw has released his vision acoustically in the form of Spirit of the Lake. One of the premier tracks, "New Tattoo," is a seething love-gone-wrong song that gets the full-bodied band sound to give you an idea of the song that floats around Hoshaw's head.

And catch Brad live tonight at The New BLK Holiday party!
