"So Long Teen Angel" used to live only within the blues scale.

The one, the four and the five chords were the foundation and the framing Brendan Hagberg built to support the Outlaw Con Bandana song released in 2009. But rather than constructing a prefabricated home to match the original, Cursive's Ted Stevens gave "So Long Teen Angel" an even bluer hue.

On ukulele, Stevens made some minor adjustments to the tune he played at the Omaha version of Take Cover on Jan. 18. Listen to Outlaw's first imagining and then watch Stevens' reinterpretation of the Nebraskan song, performed at The Sydney.
