“Speaking Politely” by Sleepy Kitty | Love Drunk Video

We were in the homestretch. Leaving Nashville headed toward St. Louis with only one day and two shoots left. It would have been easy to phone it in. But the city that is the home to the Gateway Arch and Anheuser-Busch had much more in store for us. Our first stop of two for the night was a session with Sleepy Kitty.

Walking into their living/work/practice quarters got the crew quickly excited for the shoot. The duo of Sleepy Kitty lives in their own screen-printing and graphic design company loft with a second level that houses band practice and our shooting space for the eve. The band had created a backdrop for their session as large-scale prints of passages from Miss Manners decorated the space.

The unabashed two-piece ripped through “Speaking Politely,” a hit from their 2011 record Infinity City.

Six Love Drunk videographers went on tour shooting live, one-take videos with bands across the eastern part of the U.S., spreading the word about Nebraska music along the way from May 4-20. This was day 17 of the 17-day tour. Learn more about the project and the tour here. Watch all the videos here.
