“Telephone” | Short Film Premiere

by Jordan Minnick

The pool of Nebraska's creative and artistic minds spans wide, from craft to craft — and yet, it surely find its overlaps. Your case-in-point can be found with musicians in Capgun Coup and The Benningtons. Capgun bandmates Sam Martin and Jesse McKelvey flex their screenwriting brawn with the recently released short Telephone. They teamed up with Benningtons frontman and filmmaker Tony Bonacci for the dark dramedy production, menacingly ornamented with celloist Sara White's music score. Keep an ear out for the new Capgun song "Big Forklift For My Soul Baby," as well as a strictly Martin tune, "If the Blues Fit Bare It."
