"Inspiration can come from anything for me. It might be a movie I just saw, or a cool picture in a history book. Some bands have certain words in their name that instantly conjure up visually appealing subject matter," says Lucas Wright.

The North Platte native designs posters for many of the 40-60 shows he puts on each year through his Black Heart Booking moniker. Having been involved in Nebraska music for more than 14 years, Wright often finds inspiration for his work in the bands' material, incorporating images from lyrics, song titles and the bands' personal and political messages. And he sometimes uses celebrities and famous landmarks in his designs. Wright says he considers genre to match the band with its poster. For example, flyers for hardcore and punk bands might include live performance shots. See examples of Wright's work below.
